Hawkeye Nation!

September 28, 2011

Last weekend, Sept. 16-18, I headed home to Iowa to visit my family.  Most of the weekend was spent at my parents house, but Saturday morning I ventured to Iowa City to tailgate with brother, his girlfriend Kara, and my nephew Brady at an Iowa Hawkeye football game.

Even living in Denver I see Hawkeye fans everywhere, but unless you have been to a hawkeye game in Iowa City, you really can’t understand the true craze that is behind Hawkeye Nation.  Below is a recap of the morning.

Sunrise over the field at the end of my street!

Herky!

M&M's after breakfast!

One of the many crazy party streets!

Little man running the 10 yard dash!

Hawkeye paraphernalia for sale!

Playing a little football! Future Hawkeye??

Nice Ride!

Before the game started I took my nephew home so my brother and Kara could enjoy the game.  It was so fun to get to spend some time with Brady just the two of us, he seems to be growing up way to fast!  Sarah and I hope to go back soon so Sarah can experience a game first hand.  Can’t wait until next time!
