Goodbye Summer….Hello Fall!

September 12, 2011

As summer comes to an end and the cool air moves in, I pull out my summer to do list and realize all the things I didn’t accomplish this summer and all the things I will add to the list  for next summer.

So Many Things, So Little Time

Summer recap –

Things I did accomplish:

  • Taos, New Mexico Birthday Celebrations
  • Ray LaMontagne/Brandi Carlile Concert at Red Rocks (with my peeps from Iowa)
  • Buffalo Creek Camping for my Birthday
  • Amazing Farmer’s Market’s (Aspen, Steamboat Springs, Boulder, Denver, Edgewater)
  • Urban Assault Ride
  • Hiking a 14-er (Bierstadt)
  • Getting Engaged!!!!
  • Aspen
  • Steamboat Springs
  • Clear Lake

Things I wanted to accomplish:

  • Camp along the Poudre River (did last summer and it was beautiful)
  • Hike/Camp at the Chicago Lakes Trail
  • Visit Crested Butte for the Wildflower Festival
  • Visit Telluride

All in all I would say I accomplished quite a bit off of my list.  Telluride still may happen, but that is yet to be determined.

To do’s that will be on next summers list:

  • Camp along the Poudre River/See a show at Mishawaka
  • Visit Telluride (most likely for Bluegrass Festival as Brandi Carlile told me herself she will be playing there next year!)
  • Visit Crested Butte
  • Urban Assault Ride (With my awesome partner Goya)
  • Hike another 14-er
  • Aspen
  • Watching the Leadville Trail 100
  • Clear Lake (per usual)
  • GET MARRIED and take a honeymoon!

I can’t wait!

We have some things up our sleeve for the fall:

  • Harvest Drive Outside of Boulder
  • Watch Iowa Football at the Sports Column, the only Iowa bar in Denver
  • Friends are throwing Sarah and I an Engagement Party!
  • Take Engagement Photos!
  • Tailgate at the Iowa v. Pitt Game with my Brother, his Fiance, and my Nephew
  • Hopefully catch a Rockies Game & A Broncos Game
  • Take a fall drive to see the leaves change!

I am heading to Iowa again next weekend, so keep your eyes peeled for my next post!
